  1. Place the "Jetsoft Art-Scan" CD into the CDROM drive. If your computer is setup for "AutoPlay", the computer will automatically start the "As5setup.exe" program. If your computer is not setup for "AutoPlay", go to Start>Run and type "D:\As5setup.exe".

  2. Upon startup, select your desired language and then press the "NEXT" button until the first password screen comes up as seen in figure 1.1. Enter the Art-Scan password from the CD cover (Or the password received by email for those who downloaded the program) and this indicates to "As5setup.exe" that you want to launch the Art-Scan insaller from the CD.

  3. Once you reach the screen seen in figure 1.2 if you are using the card that came bundled with the scanner, check to see if it is a DTC brand SCSI card. If it is a DTC brand SCSI card you will want to install with the DTC option if you don't already have a DTC driver in your System->DeviceManager control panel. If your card has jumpers, you will want to set the address of the card to 0x280.

If you already have a DTC or another brand SCSI card and it is installed, connected to the scanner and shown as working in your System->DeviceManager, you will want to install with the "Use existing...' option.

  4. At a later point in this installation you will see two "Registering File Type" dialog, you can just click YES. This dialog box is a Windows message and has no real affect upon installation.

  5. Upon reboot you may see the "Unknown Device found" within the 'Add New Hardware Wizard' dialog. Click "NEXT" until you can click "FINISH". You may need to repeat this operation 8 times. Do not click "CANCEL"!

Win95 users will want to click 'Do not install a driver for this device" and "OK". You may need to repeat this operation 8 times.
