The FTP tab of Art-Copy's setup window allows users to setup desired FTP connections to enable automatic uploads to Web sites or file servers.
- Server/User Information:
- In order to enable FTP support there are several pieces of required information that must be entered in order to allow FTP connections. A screenshot is displayed below in order to give the user a sense of what the require information is and what an example of this information could be.
- Host Name:
- The "Host Name" is a simple descriptive string of text describing the FTP connection being created. This could be anything from "MyFTP" to "default Web upload connection", or anything on those lines. This is just a description field and does not really affect any performance of operation of the FTP feature.
- Host URL:
- Host URL is the Web site location that the user will be connecting to in order to enable the FTP connection. This typically is a Web site link similar to "www.mywebsite.com" or "ftp://mywebsite.com" where the FTP server currently resides.
- User ID and Password:
- The "User ID" and "Password" field are used to provide the user name and the user's password that are required to verify the user to the FTP connection. The user name and permissions settings must be enabled on the FTP server side in order for the connection to be established for FTP upload capability. Please consult the FTP Web Administrator of the remote FTP Web site to ensure that this information is valid.
- Directory:
- The "Directory" field is used to specify the advanced upload capability for the FTP client. The user has the ability to manually specify a specific directory on the FTP Web site in order to upload files. Once the required information is entered (Host URL, User ID & Password) by clicking on the "Test" button the connection will be established to the FTP server and a directory listing will appear in the file directory box underneath the FTP connection information. The user can then double click on one of the available folders to automatically populate the "Directory" field with a valid FTP path where files will be uploaded to.
