Chapter 1: Installation

To install the Art-Copy program:

  1. Place the "Art-Copy" CD into the CDROM drive. If your computer is setup for "AutoPlay", the computer will automatically start the installation. If your computer is not setup for "AutoPlay", go to Start→Run and type "D:\Ac75setup(b, c, e).exe". If you downloaded Art-Copy then locate the setup file and double click it to begin installation.

  2. Upon startup, press the "NEXT" button following the prompts until the first password screen comes up as seen in figure 1.1. Enter the Art-Copy password from the CD cover (Or the password received by email for those who downloaded the program) and this indicates to Art-Copy's installation program that you want to launch the Art-Copy insaller from the CD/hard-drive.

  3. Continue to follow the prompts until Art-Copy begins its installation, during which you may be prompted to check either "YES" or "NO" for the OCR function (figure 1.2). If you've previouslly installed TypeReader please select "YES" this will allow you to scan to OCR with Art-Copy. If you do not have TypeReader installed then select "NO" to finish up the installation of Art-Copy.

  4. At this point you may have to reboot in order to finish the installation process.
