  1. Scan Settings Drop Down Listing:

Art-Copy features the ability to quickly and easily switch between scan settings that once required multiple steps to utilize. Now using the hot swap-scanning drop down listing a user can easily switch from scanning one page at a time to scanning hundreds at a time with just a click of a button.

The drop down list easily allows its users to switch either from scanning from a flatbed of a scanner to scanning using the attached automatic document feeder to scanning with a duplex scanner. The option also allows the user to switch from scanning a single page at a time to scanning multiple pages through a batch scan. Below are the available options available via the how swap scanning drop down listing:

  2. Size combo box:

It is used to choose the size of your output.

    * Fit to Page: The output will be enlarged or reduced to cover the page, no matter how large or small the original scanning area and image are.

    * 25% - 400%: The ratio is reduced or enlarged in increments of 25%. You can choose from 25% (1/4 of the original size) up to 400% (four times the original size). If you select 100%, the copy will be the same size as the original image. To enlarge images where the original is large (such as an 8x10 photo), you have to use a printer that can print on paper larger than A4 size.

    * 8 x 10, 4x 6, …, 2.5 x 3.5: These options indicate the output image size will be the one you select, no matter the original image size.

    * Passport: This option indicates the output image size of 1 x 1.5 inch, the size of a passport photo, no matter the original image size Art-Copy crops accordingly to make the image fit into the selected output size.

  3. Auto Crop check box:

By selecting this option, Art-Copy automatically crops the image after it is scanned. To use this Auto Crop function well, the photo must be placed onto the scanner glass against an all white or black background, so Art-Copy can recognize the photo border correctly. Any dirt or scratches on the scanner glass may affect the accuracy of this operation.

  4. Rotate check box:

By selecting this option, Art-Copy automatically rotates the image 90 degrees clockwise after it is scanned. It is similar to Portrait/Landscape option for printer output configuration.

  5. Brightness bar:

The Brightness Bar is used to adjust the clarity of an image. This is used much like the exposure control on a typical copier.

  6. Setting Radio Buttons:

Color: This option is chosen to scan a color photo. This option needs more memory and disk space and is slower than the other color mode options.

Gray: This option is chosen to scan a grayscale photo or if you want to print a color photo in grayscale. This option needs moderate memory and disk space and is faster than color mode, but slower than the B/W and Text (OCR).

B/W: This option is chosen to scan line art or black and white images, such as a letter, newspaper clips, or engineering blueprint. This option requires the least amount of memory and disk space and is the fastest color mode. However, it is not suitable for scanning photos or pictures.

Text (OCR): This option is chosen to scan text documents. This option will scan the text into an editable word processing document. (Enterprise Only)
