The email tab of Art-Copy’s setup window allows you to setup the email client that will be used when handling the Art-Copy’s “Scan to email” feature. With this in mind you can choose to use the default email client that has been specified on your local machine, be this Outlook, Outlook Express, or any other type of email client present. There is also the option to use the Jetsoft Art-Copy email client that can handle sending emails with the scanned files as attachments. The Art-Copy Email Client is only supported in the Business and Enterprise versions. In order to use the Jetsoft Art-Copy client several additional email settings are required. (Art-Copy Email Client is Business and Enterprise Only)
In order to switch between using your existing email client, which is selected by default. Simply click on the "Art-Copy Email Client" in order to use Jetsoft Art-Copy’s email client, or if you wish to change back to the default email client on your local system simply click back on to the "Default Email Client".
SMTP Server:
- This is the SMTP mail server of the Internet service you use. Usually, it is filled automatically when Art-Copy is launched. If this edit box is empty or incorrect, enter your SMTP server name. If you do not know your SMTP server name, contact your Internet service provider.
- Your E-mail:
- This is the e-mail address. The format of this field is: "Your Name"<full e-mail address>. For example, “John”<John@doe.com>.
- Attachment Mode:
- This combo box lets you choose the mode for your attached images. The default is Normal.
- E-mail Address Book:
- Click the Address Book to access an already existing catalog of email contacts or create an e-mail address book from scratch to use with the Art-Copy e-mail client.

You can add a new address to the book, modify an existing address or delete an address. Art-Copy lets you import e-mail addresses from a text file, with the format of CSV (Comma Separated Values). Many e-mail clients can export their e-mail address book to a CSV file.
- Default File Type:
- When using the “Scan to email” option Art-Copy can automatically choose the file type of the image that will be sent as an email attachment. There are options available for image formats as well as options for a rich text formats created from OCR scanning. In order to have Art-Copy automatically specify these file formats for each scan to email command simply select the “Always send the image in this file type” selection box.
