Setting Up Art-Copy:
Setting up the Email Clients

[Return to Contents]

By default the default email application of the local system is already preset to handle the transfer of any Art-Copy email functions. This means that if you were to click the “Scan to Email” button from the main interface Art-Copy would send the image as an email attachment to a newly created email receipt using your default email client. This also means that for each scan to email function that is used the default email client on the local system will be launched to handle the completion of the email process.

If you would like to send images by email without using your default email client Art-Copy also provides its own email client to process these image transfers. In order to use Art-Copy’s own email client you will need to setup additional email settings, which includes SMPT connection settings, and a valid email address you wish to use to send email with.

To setup the Art-Copy Email Client simply follow the instructions below:

 1.) Open Art-Copy

2.) Click on the File menu then select “Setup”

3.) Click on the "Email" tab to display the email client settings

4.) Click the "Art-Copy Email Client" (Business and Enterprise Only)

Once the Art-Copy Email Client has been specified a valid SMTP mail server of the Internet service you use will need to be entered. By default, at least in most cases, Art-Copy will automatically populate the SMTP information when launched. If you do not know the SMTP setting information you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider.

In order to use the Art-Copy Email Client you will also need to enter in a valid email address in the format shown: "Your Name"<full e-mail address>.

For example, “John Doe”<YourEmailAddress@YourISP.com>.

When using the “Scan to email” option Art-Copy can automatically choose the file type of the image that will be sent as an email attachment. There are options available for image formats as well as options for a rich text formats created from OCR scanning. In order to have Art-Copy automatically specify these file formats for each scan to email command simply select the “Always send the image in this file type” selection box.
